Sometimes writing can be difficult. We get distracted by nearly everything else on our screen instead of the text we are supposed to write. The application we use for a living does not do what we want it to do, and we find ourselves thinking about leisure time — all the time. I, myself, come across this problem more often than I would like to admit. However, recently I found some apps which helped me push my productivity to the next level. Let me show you in this blog how I use Notion, Obsidian, and Ulysses for maximum productivity.

At long last, Obsidian has released an iOS and Android version of its desktop release. If you have read my other blog, where I go through my process of writing blogs and creating content in general, it was only Obsidian (unlike Notion and Ulysses) that didn‘t have a proper mobile solution.
The long wait is now over, as the mobile app launched on the 12th of July.
How did my workflow change, and what are the benefits of having Obsidian on mobile — let‘s find out in this blog.

When there are no mental or physical barriers to separate work from private life, it is hard to stay productive. The sofa, lurking in the back with the remote ready to turn on the TV. Finding the motivation to do the work isn’t easy. And if you are fortunate enough to have kids, it is quite an impossible feat. But worry not, even in the Home Office, we can do things to optimize for productivity. …
Since I’m an engineer by trade, I always like to see things from a technical viewpoint. Being productive and creating in general, if you think about it, is just a process to bring order into your chaotic thoughts and ideas. Easier said than done. Most of us have great ideas and concepts that they could turn into a great video, podcast, or blog post. But at the same time, most of us cannot be bothered to do the work of putting something cohesive together. Why is that?

It’s because the human mind is subject to the second law of thermodynamics…
Some people are natural productivity machines. They get things done at a faster rate, and leave their competition behind. Some just have a natural talent. However, if you are like me and need to plan your day thoroughly to not waste any time between tasks or to not lose focus, I might have just the perfect tool for you to boost your productivity in 2021.

Unfortunately, Android and Windows users can stop reading right here, as Sorted3 does not support these platforms. …
In this blog, I want to continue to extend my original post Idea Factory vs. Idea Storage. Here I wrote on the concept of having an Idea Source where we gather information and material on things that interest us. To save the abundance of content we collect from time to time, an Idea Storage is beneficial. Here we save the unfiltered material for future use. Simultaneously, this is also where we plan what we want to create — an outline of sorts. To process the unfiltered material, we need an appropriate place. Enter the Idea Factory. As an Idea Source…
Even at an advanced age, it is quite beneficial to learn new skills. However, most of us struggle to advance when reaching higher numbers in age. Why is that? Do we lack motivation, willpower, or are we just biologically unable to soak up new skill sets? Let’s examine what blocks mental advancement in old age and how to keep learning our whole life.

How do we learn and master a new skill? Some say it takes just…
Decelerating a car is as essential as powering it. If the vehicle happens to be equipped with an electric motor, then braking is either handled by the friction brake or the electric motor itself. This is known as brake blending. Using the friction brake is inefficient since the mechanical energy of the vehicle is transferred into plain heat. Additionally, it is disadvantageous for the environment. However, recuperation is not always ready for operation.
Let’s investigate what the negative aspects of the friction brake are, what limits the use of recuperation, and how to find another, better solution.

Peak performance during the day, and productivity that would rival any productivity guru. Not only do we produce 80 % of our work in those times, but we do it with so much vigor that we feel no signs of fatigue. In other words, we reach a state of top productivity. As is with every other mental state, of course, this one has a name as well — The Flow State.

Getting into our car, setting a destination, and leaning back because everything else happens automatically. We can take a nap, write on our best ideas, or read our favorite book. Our car drives us safely to our desired destination while there is nothing that we have to do. Traffic flows like never seen before as every self-driving car communicates with other nearby autonomous cars and the environment. Never will a traffic jam hinder us from arriving on time again, and traffic safety will be significantly higher. At least, this is the dream of the future.
