Peak performance during the day, and productivity that would rival any productivity guru. Not only do we produce 80 % of our work in those times, but we do it with so much vigor that we feel no signs of fatigue. In other words, we reach a state of top productivity. As is with every other mental state, of course, this one has a name as well — The Flow State.

This mental state of maximum productivity is described as being in the zone. Hungarian-American psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi was the first to name and recognized this in 1975. He was born on the 29th of September 1934 and is a Professor of Psychology and Management at the Claremont Graduate University. He is the author of the bestselling book Flow.

What is the Flow State?

According to the University of Queensland and the University of Western Sydney „the Flow State is a positively experienced state, which occurs when the performer is completely immersed in the state of performance; a state in which the personal abilities optimally match the required performance.“
