I officially finished my first paper. What an unspectacular feeling that is.
You are probably asking yourself what the paper was about? In short, I showed that with a new algorithm for solving differential equations, I was able to cut the simulation time by 99 %, but more on that later.

Some things caught my attention during the short writing process, which I want to document in this blog. And since I haven’t written in about a month now, it is high time that I show some sign of life.

First of all, let me tell you what my paper is about.

Something about differential equations and algorithms for solving them? What? Sounds boring, doesn’t it? Yes, I agree with you. However, practically speaking, it is an extremely interesting — and indeed important — topic. Let me tell you why.

Basically, I did not write a paper, but rather it is considered an abstract. It is a two pages long, paper-style piece. Similar to an appetizer, you have the opportunity to get the public interested in your research. So, what is the best hook to get anyone’s attention? Clearly, it is tit… No, time. Time, it is.
